Layton is constantly advancing his education within the telecommunications, security, and technology fields to maintain his Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) certifications. He knows that clients face ever-increasing challenges, not only due to the rapid advancement of technology but also in response to the ongoing pandemic. Budgets are tight, remote work is becoming more standard, and finding solutions that best fit the needs of clients and their stakeholders is more complex than ever. Layton’s experience and ongoing education ensure CRUX clients are aware of exactly what is available to help them run their businesses more efficiently and often at a lower cost.
One of Layton’s most memorable projects was designing a passive optical LAN (POL) network for the new headquarters of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. The 500,000 square-foot building in Durant, OK, was the largest POL install in the state to date and was the largest such install in the state to-date. POL technology uses fiber optic cables to link each user workstation or device connected to the data network. Advantages of this kind of infrastructure include unlimited bandwidth capabilities with no distance limitations, electrical signal interferences, or need to refresh.
Layton has a B.S. in Business Administration and Management from Phillips University. He has earned credentials from BICSI as a Registered Telecommunications Project Manager, Registered Communications Distribution Designer, and Outside Plant Designer.
