Stillwater New Fire Station No. 2
The challenge they faced
The City of Stillwater is replacing Fire Station No. 2 with a new 17,000 square-foot facility. It includes a dispatch center, a modern kitchen, private sleeping quarters, and a drive through bay, eliminating the need to back in fire engines. The additional space allows for better equipment storage and maintenance. Improved working conditions for crews means faster, more effective response for the residents of Stillwater.
CRUX designed the station’s premise distribution system, including the structured cabling and pathways that support voice, data, security, and audio/video systems throughout the building. CRUX also designed the video surveillance system, which covers building entrances, hallways, common areas, the parking lot, and the exterior, and specified the electronic access control system for the facility. CRUX coordinated door hardware at access-controlled openings with the project’s door hardware consultant, and coordinated power requirements with the electrical designer. During construction, CRUX will review RFIs and submittals and complete two site visits.
