Dennis Porter

With more than 30 years of experience in security, law enforcement, and crime prevention, Dennis is highly qualified to perform risk assessments, security planning, and design. He designs a variety of physical security systems for his clients, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and gunshot detection systems. Dennis applied his expertise successfully for a city hall he found to be surprisingly lacking in security controls. The facility included the police and fire departments, EMS, city offices, and library. City employees didn't feel safe walking to their vehicles after work, and Dennis found that he could look into fire department vehicles and lockers without being confronted. He helped provide countermeasures so that all the city employees would feel safe in their work environment. Dennis understands the security challenges businesses and governments face, and he provides his clients with site assessments that allow him to develop best practice solutions for creating safe environments. In the rapidly changing world of security system technology, Dennis stays current by constantly reading and studying about security system manufacturer products and talking with their employees to learn about current trends and how they might best fit his clients. In addition to his work at CRUX, Dennis teaches law enforcement agencies, architects, and others about crime prevention through environmental design and other crime prevention strategies.
